Cat microchipping
If your cat enjoys roaming the outdoors, cat microchipping is a simple yet powerful tool to ensure the safety of your beloved feline. In an unpredictable world, there is peace of mind in knowing that your cat has an added layer of protection. This straightforward procedure provides peace of mind, knowing that should they ever stray or become lost, the chances of a happy reunion are greatly increased.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! As of 10th June 2024 all pet cats in England must be microchipped by law. This means that pet cats must be microchipped before they reach the age of 20 weeks, including indoor cats. As part of the new rules, you must keep your contact details up to date on a Defra-approved microchipping database. Failure to do so can incur fines of up to £500, so book an appointment and get your cat chipped if you haven’t already!

Why is cat microchipping essential?
Cat Microchipping is an essential part of pet care that goes beyond regular check-ups and vaccinations. It’s the most reliable method to ensure your cat’s safe return if they get lost.
Unlike collars, which can break or be removed, a microchip is a permanent form of identification. Tiny as a grain of rice, this chip is inserted under your cat’s skin and carries a unique number that’s registered to a national database with your contact details.
How does cat microchipping work?
The process of cat microchipping is quick, safe, and no more painful than a standard vaccination. Our skilled veterinarians ensure the procedure is stress-free for your pet. Once implanted, the microchip doesn’t require any maintenance, and the peace of mind it offers is invaluable.
Should your cat wander off, any vet or animal charity can scan the chip, retrieve your contact details from the national database, and reunite you with your cat.
The right time for microchipping your cat
While cats can be microchipped at any age we often recommend doing so at the time of their second vaccination which conveniently coincides with their second vaccination.
However, it’s never too late to provide your pet with this layer of safety. Whether you’re bringing a new kitten into your home or you’ve welcomed an adult cat, cat microchipping is a step you shouldn’t skip.

EXCELLENT Based on 155 reviews Posted on Alex MooreTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a kind and friendly environment, made experience really good for myself considering that it was my first time going to vets. They helped me and explained everything along the wayPosted on amanda marksTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My poor dog became very unwell, very quickly. We weren't registered at a vets but a call to Rackheath and we were registered and seen on an emergency appointment. Tests were ran, scans were taken and a diagnosis was given within 3 hours. At every step our dog was treated with compassion and at every step we were given an estimate for any work undertaken. I did not worry about leaving my boy with them as everyone we came across had the same professional and caring attitude. 3 days later, we've been through many visits and had an operation. The support, advice and understanding has been critical in us feeling happy. I truly believe we've received the best possible care and they’ve gone above and beyond to care for my sweet little boy, who we can enjoy for the later years of his life now.Posted on EllieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
