Inspiring kindness, care, and curiosity in the next generation
At Rackheath Vets, we’re proud to be an active part of our local community and believe it’s important to support and educate future generations. For the past two and a half years, our team has regularly visited local primary schools, where children have enjoyed bandaging their teddies, dressing up as vets, and learning how to care for their pets. These visits help children understand kindness, responsibility, and the many roles within a veterinary practice.
Our team has also attended local secondary school careers events, inspiring students who are interested in pursuing a future in the veterinary profession. In addition, we offer work experience and work placement opportunities for students looking to gain hands-on insight into life in practice. Our spacious consultation rooms are designed to create a calm, comfortable environment for pets, owners, and staff. The additional space allows thorough examinations, clear discussions, and support from multiple team members while helping reduce stress and anxiety for pets.
Designated waiting areas
At Rackheath Vets, we aim to make every visit as stress free as possible. Dedicated waiting areas for dogs, cats, and small furries help maintain comfort, reduce anxiety, and ensure a safer, calmer experience for all patients.
Kennels and cat ward
Our kennels and cat ward are designed with your pet’s comfort and safety in mind. Large walk-in dog kennels and dedicated cat ward spaces provide a calm, secure environment while pets are resting in our care.
State-of-the-art imaging suite
Our advanced imaging suite is equipped with modern technology including x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and laser therapy. This allows accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning, helping us deliver high-quality care and improved outcomes for your pet.
Theatre and dental suites
Our theatre suite and prep areas are designed to deliver high standards of surgical care. A separate dental suite helps reduce cross contamination, supporting excellent hygiene, safety, and comfort throughout surgical and dental procedures.
Accessibility
Our practice has been designed with accessibility in mind. Wide corridors, disabled access, a separate entrance for nervous pets, and ample on-site parking help make visits as smooth and stress free as possible.
On-Site Laboratory
Many diagnostic tests, including blood and urine tests, can be carried out in our on-site laboratory, with results often available within 30 minutes. This allows us to diagnose conditions quickly, plan treatment promptly, and carry out pre-anaesthetic testing on the same day, helping reduce risk and provide peace of mind.
